HURRICANE HARVEY

Hunger Plus is working to collect and deliver supplies to those devastated by Hurricane Harvey this past week.   This will be an 0n-going effort that will take many resources over many months.  With that in mind Hunger Plus has partnered with several food banks in Texas and Rotary Clubs in order to meet the needs of so many families.

If you would like to help during this crisis here are is a list of items needed:

FOOD – soups, tinned vegetables, tuna, peanut butter, jelly, fruit cups

CLEANING SUPPLIES – bleach, disinfecting products, paper towels, sponges, scrub brushes, handiwipes

DRY FOOD – cereal, crackers, powdered milk,  granola bars, poptarts

HYGIENE PRODUCTS – hand sanitizer, feminine products, soap, shampoo, facial wipes

BABY PRODUCTS – diapers, wipes, formula

**PLEASE REMEMBER NO BOTTLES or BREAKABLE ITEMS**

If you would like to donate towards the transportation costs, please visit our donation page. 

Hunger Plus is going to help transport items collected to the areas in need.   This is a joint effort with the food banks, Rotary Clubs, donors and Hunger Plus, Inc. to help those in need.   ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!!

LITERACY COUNCIL AWARDS

The Hale County Literacy Council recognized the following individuals for believing, serving and contributing to the cause of literacy. The following Lity Awards were awarded for: Outstanding Contribution and Community Service to J.B. Roberts (left) with Hunger-Plus; Outstanding Lity Scholarship ($1,000) Dañia Martinez; Outstanding Junior Council Volunteer ($250) Shalin Lawson; Distinguished Lity Scholarship ($500) recipients: Holley Poole and Lauren Aguirre and Outstanding Adult Volunteer, Lola Shackelford.
