•  Over 1/2 of child mortalities in low income countries can be attributed to malnutrition.

•  P.E.M. (Protein Energy Malnutrition) is the most lethal form of malnutrition.

•  26.7% of children worldwide are under-weight.

•  Every 3.6 seconds someone dies from hunger and its effects.

•  15 million children die of hunger every year.

•  500 million live in absolute poverty.

•  The United States ranks 23rd in infant mortality rates.  Infant mortality is directly linked to inadequate nutrition in pregnant women.

•  1 out of 8 children go to bed hungry every night.

                                          •  Malnutrition is the cause for more than 1/2 of the deaths in children worldwide.
