The Solution
Since 1997 Hunger Plus has been confronting hunger worldwide through the use of dehydrated foods. Dehydrated foods are nutritious, easily transported, stored, and prepared. Hunger Plus acquires foods from our suppliers and makes them available for sponsorship by individuals, and groups of all kinds who have valid projects designed to reduce malnutrition and hunger.
Feeding programs are, however, only a partial answer to hunger. The ultimate answer is helping those who are hungry produce food where they live. This represents the 'Plus' side of our organization. We accomplish our tasks through partnering with many other organizations who are skilled in the development and implementation of programs in agriculture, water, health, education, housing and technology.
The solutions to hunger are not the same everywhere, but the need to break the cycle of poverty and hunger is important if we are to reach a goal of reducing by half the number of hungry people in the world by 2015.
